History

GBC” -International was created in 2006. Its main activity was the edition of the French newspaper “La Lettre du Gabon” with the aim of encouraging bilateral cooperation between Gabon and South Africa.

In 2007, the company began an important tournament, hence the modification of its field of activity towards a more commercial look, hence the birth of Medical Assistance. This appears to be a response to the insufficient infrastructure in the health care sector in Gabon and other French-speaking countries. This situation has always led nationals of this area to be evacuated to France for medical treatment.

From there, we are emerging with an interface partner vision for said patients requiring emergency medical care by sending them to South Africa; an idea based on the philosophy of African problems that require African solutions. Many public and private partners such as the Ministries of Public Health and Public Service, Multinational and Para-Public Companies, local companies and individuals have responded positively to our approach.

In 2009, saw the launch of a second product called Student Assistance for the management and monitoring of foreign students on a study trip in South Africa and Senegal. Parents and students are our privileged partners.

Almost ten years later in 2018, we launched our third product under the name: Medevac exclusively reserved for insurance companies operating on the African market. This new product is backed by their various health insurance portfolios.

The company has since evolved to become an entity based on integrated assistance, in partnership with several African entities, based on the pillars of development and support for the needs of Africa.

“GBC” – International is a pan-African company with headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa.
